Care Guide
Gentle, dry care helps preserve lacquer, gilding, painted colour, wirework and inlay.
Effective 4 September 2026
Placement
Place the work on a stable, level surface away from direct sunlight, heaters, air-conditioning outlets, high humidity and rapid temperature change. Use professional placement help for large or heavy works.
Dusting
Use a clean, dry, very soft brush or air blower at low pressure. Support delicate attributes while cleaning nearby. Do not pull cloth across raised wirework, jewels, fingers, crowns or fine projections.
Avoid liquids and chemicals
Do not use water, alcohol, polish, metal cleaner, household spray, oil, incense residue remover or abrasive material unless a qualified conservator has examined the specific finish.
Handling
Lift from the strongest structural base with clean, dry hands or suitable gloves. Never lift by halos, arms, staffs, crowns, jewellery or other assembled attributes. Keep all packing components for future transport.
Conservation
If a surface lifts, cracks or becomes damaged, stop cleaning and contact us with clear photographs. Do not attempt adhesive, paint or metal repair without appropriate expertise.
